What is scouting all about?
The Aims of Scouting are to promote:
-
Character
-
Citizenship
-
Personal Fitness
-
Leadership
These are instilled in each scout through the learning and use of The Scout Oath (see right) and The Scout Law (see right).
Each child becomes part of a Den that includes a small group of kids of the same grade and gender. Each Den has a den leader, and a den meets once or twice per month. While together, a den works on a variety of adventures to earn badges in order to move up in Rank (see right).
All Dens from Kindergarten through 5th Grade make up a Pack. Once a month, the dens, with their families, come together at the pack meeting where scouts are recognized for their adventures and badges they have earned.
Each scout's family is encouraged to join in the fun, helping them on their adventures along the way. Your child's success in Cub Scouting depends on you, parents!
